What is an affected source at facilities subject to this rule?
EPA defines an affected source as a stationary source, group of stationary sources, or part of a stationary source to which a specific NESHAP applies. For this surface coating of wood building products rule, the affected source is the collection of the following items:
- All coating operations defined by 63.4781,
- All storage containers and mixing vessels in which coatings, thinners, and cleaning materials are stored and mixed,
- All manual and automated equipment and containers used for conveying coatings, thinners, and cleaning materials, and
- All storage containers and all manual and automated equipment and containers used for conveying waste materials generated by a coating operation.
